Eating Healthy in College

Nutrition is one of the most important parts of our overall health and well-being. Because of this, we need to really think about how we are fueling our bodies. College can be a difficult time to maintain a proper diet, because of schedules and other activities. It may seem easier to just run to McDonald's or order a pizza regularly, but this will not be fueling your body in the right way. Don't get me wrong, a nice Big Mac or a huge pizza are not things we need to completely avoid, they just can't be the main things we are eating. Consuming all five food groups: fruits, vegetables, grains, proteins, and dairy. This will properly fuel our bodies, allowing for a healthy and happy life.

  1. What's up, Tyler, my Blog for today was also about eating healthy in college. I find it to be super important that college students know how to eat healthy, by knowing what is good for them, where they can find healthy options, and be able to make themselves something healthy. I also agree that it is ok to have something quick like a burger or pizza here and there, but finding a good balance is key. I enjoyed reading through this post, and hopefully it can be beneficial to whoever comes across it.

  2. Hey Tyler! I really liked your post about nutrition. I think it’s important to write about the struggles that come with trying to maintain a healthy diet and correct nutrition especially in college. Like you said, it’s easy to overlook the importance of eating the correct food instead of just eating fast food. It’s great that you included the main food groups to focus on, while also explaining that life is still about balance, including diet.

  3. I agree that nutrition plays a huge role in overall health, especially during college when schedules can make healthy eating challenging. It’s true that fast food and takeout are convenient, but they shouldn’t be the main part of your diet. Focusing on all five food groups, fruits, vegetables, grains, proteins, and dairy helps provide the energy and nutrients our bodies need. Treats like pizza or burgers are fine occasionally, but balance is key. Making mindful choices consistently will support both physical health and overall well-being.

  4. Nice post Tyler! I agree, nutrition is definitely one of the most important parts in regards to our overall health. College can 100% be a difficult time to maintain a proper diet. I like how you added in that a burger and pizza is ok, but only in moderation, unhealthy foods should not be your primary source of nutrients. I'll be coming back to check out your future blogs!
